Paviland® Drenante

Dry-mix concrete, intended for highly permeable flooring systems; constitutes an alternative to traditional flooring aesthetics. It reduces and/or prevents the surface flow of rain water or any other type of water by allowing permeation. It complies with Royal Decree 505/2007, of 20 April, which approved the basic conditions of accessibility and non-discrimination of people with disabilities for accessing and using developed public spaces and buildings.Paviland Drainage is free of resins so it does not emit volatile organic compounds that are harmful for the person applying the product and the environment.

Additional information

Composition

Product made with cement, limestone aggregates of controlled grain size and additives that improve its plasticity and workability properties.

Features and applications

  • Sports courts.
  • Car parks.
  • Flooring in residential developments.
  • Cycle and pedestrian lanes.
  • Car washes.
  • Tree pits and landscaping.
  • Swimming pool enclosures and surroundings.
  • Roundabouts.
  • Base for artificial turf.
  • Any surface where you want to avoid pooling of water and liquids.

Instructions for use

  • Mix the product to 7% of water (approximately 1.75 liters of water per 25 kilogram bag) to get a dry consistency. Mix whole sacks. Mechanical mixing of the mixture is recommended to get a smooth paste without lumps.
  • The ideal consistency of PAVILAND Drainage should be such that a handful of the product picked up should not crumble (for lack of water), or lose its structure of holes with the paste flowing between the aggregates (for excess of water).

Cautions and recommendations

  • Design the system according to the desired drainage capacity and the characteristics of adjacent land.
  • On surfaces with slopes greater than 1% additional measures should be taken such as installing barriers or preparing the site in the form of terraces.
  • A clean gravel base can be used of a size of between 3 - 12 mm depending on the design and water evacuation capacity that this design requires. The gravel should be completely compacted and leveled to achieve a firm and stable base.
  • The thickness of application will vary according to the area where the product is being applied; a minimum of 4 cm for areas without transit, 5 cm for areas with pedestrian transit and 7 cm for areas with light traffic.
  • Compact the product sufficiently to achieve the desired resistances by hitting with a trowel or something similar or by gentle leveling with a vibrating leveler such that all the grains stay within the mortar of the product, avoid troweling and smoothing so as not to block the pore.
  • Work joints should be made beforehand using flexible battens or something similar. Make partition joints every 30 m² immediately after the consolidation of the product using a steel joint profile or something similar. Respect perimeter and structural joints.
  • Ensure the product cures properly either by covering it for at least 3 days with a thick geotextile or else by applying a powdered curing resin for concrete type DC-2 over the surface once the product does not stain the hand.

MAINTENANCE is recommended, following these recommendations:

  • When doing the design, the measures to be implemented in the surrounding land should be taken into account so as to prevent materials being swept towards paved surfaces. Earth, stones, leaves and other materials may get through the holes in the flooring preventing the flow of water and thus reducing the usefulness of the drainage flooring.
  • Cleaning is required at least once a year to remove dirt from the surface of the flooring. Cleaning can be done using pressurized air or water.
  • Do not apply the product in conditions of strong wind or rain, or at temperatures below 5⁰C or above 35⁰C.
  • High temperatures may accelerate the setting process and low temperature may slow it down.
  • Do not add water if the product has started to set.
  • Do not use sea water or water of uncertain characteristics for the mixing.
  • It should be noted that an increase of mixing water means a decrease in resistances and loss of porosity.
  • Do not paint, or carry out any other treatment that obstructs the porosity of the product, this pressure to avoid damaging the floor.
