Additional information

Composition

Product based on hydraulic binders, selected aggregates, porogenic additives and saline efflorescence inhibitors.

Features and applications

  • Sanitation of damaged walls due to rising damp.
  • It prevents the appearance of salts on the wall surface thanks to its high porosity.
  • Conservation of the wall technically and aesthetically for years depending on the water supply - saline of the soil.
  • It reduces de appearance of condensation and mould indoors.
  • Very permeable to water vapour.
  • It provides dehumidifying properties - Direct application without filling.
  • It may be applied on top of bricks, natural stones, concrete blocks or any other kind or porous fabric.
  • It is easy to apply and posses an excellent adhesion to the substrate.
  • Suitable for indoors and outdoors applications.
  • Application in the lower part of the wall to be repair.

Substrates

  • Substrates must be resistant, stable and sound.
  • They must be clean and free of dust, remains of release agents, organic products, microorganisms, etc.
  • In case of heat, wind or very absorbent substrates, it is convenient to moisten the substrate and wait for the water film to disappear.
  • At singular points (joints between different materials, floors, columns...) reinforce the mortar with fibreglass mesh to avoid cracking.

Instructions for use

  • Add water (between 3.8-4.3 litres for each 25-kilo bag) and mix manually or mechanically for at least 5 minutes until a homogeneous and workable consistency is obtained.
  • Spread the mixed product on the moistened substrate with the help of a trowel avoiding too much pressure so not close the paste porous until getting a 20 mm thickness.
  • The maximum thickness will be 40 mm applied in two layers of 20 mm.
  • Carry out the scraped or floated finish with a wooden trowel (and thus maintain open porosity) once the adequate consistency is obtained.
  • Cover only with highly breathable materials.
  • Compatible with the range of lime mortars; MORCEM STUCCO or highly breathable mineral paints.

Cautions and recommendations

  • Do not apply bellow 5ºC nor above 30ºC.
  • Do not apply the product with risk of frost, rain, strong winds, direct sun or hot substrate.
  • Do not apply on top of plaster or paint. On poor condition substrates and for large thicknesses, it is necessary to reinforce the mortar with mesh (check with the technical department).
  • Do not cover MORCEMREST MUR with materials that are not very breathable (plastic paints, varnishes, stone, ceramic tiles...).
  • On indoors applications MORCEMREST MUR increases the relative humidity of the environment. Avoid its application in places without ventilation.
  • The application height will be 50 cm above the damp stains.
  • According to CTE in the basic document of Health DB - HS 1: It should be protected against humidity; when the façade is made of a porous coating, to protect it, there must be a plinth or other material whose suction coefficient is less than 3% in order to protect it from capillary rises and splashes. Minimum 1 cm from the ground

Packaging

25 kg plastic-lined paper bags.
Shelf life: 1 year in sealed original packaging, sheltered from weather conditions and humidity.
