Additional information

Composition

It is a highly breathable product based on liquid potassium silicate, modified with an acrylic copolymer dispersion, pigments, fillers, and additives.

Features and applications

  • Product approved by EAD 040083-00-0404- ETE No. 07/0054.
  • Permeable to water vapour, allowing the substrate to breathe.
  • Alkali render which avoids fungus and bacteria formation until it fishes its whole petrification process.
  • Anti-mould.
  • Ageing, city-environments, and UV rays resistant.
  • Suitable for most substrates.
  • Excellent adhesion on traditional construction substrates.
  • Washable.
  • Easy and quick to apply.
  • Great Whiteness.
  • Non-flammable.
  • High resistance to corrosive environment, acids and alkalis and UV rays.

Substrates

  • Compatible with mineral substrates such as mineral mortars, concrete, lime plasters, paints, and sound and well-adhered silicate plastering.
  • To be placed on top of Traditerm external thermal insulation system prepared for the execution of the final decorative finish.
  • Not compatible with lime paints, resins or varnishes, or distemper paints, and not recommended for synthetic materials, dispersion polymer paints, or gypsum substrates.
  • Substrates must be clean, free from dust, greases, old paint, oils, fungus, mould, and any other kind of product.
  • New cement plastering must be fully cured.
  • On surfaces affected by fungi and algae, proceed with their complete removal beforehand.
  • Remove degraded or poorly adhered paints by brushing, sanding, or stripping the surface.
  • On surfaces with loose particles, apply FIJAMOR primer beforehand.
  • Apply a FONDO MORCEMCRIL SILICATO coat before.
  • MORCEMCRIL SILICATO can be applied after 24 hours.

Instructions for use

  • Shake until getting a perfect mixture.
  • The product is already ready to use, and it should be applied with a trowel or gun.
  • If applied manually, you can adjust its consistency and workability by adding water, up to a maximum of 250 ml per 12 litres container.
  • If applied with a spray gun, you can add water up to a maximum of 1 litre per 12 litres container. This kind of adjustment will depend on the pump used.
  • Stir the product properly just before applying it.
  • In the case of manual application, spread the product evenly using a steel trowel across the entire surface, removing any excess material above the aggregate thickness.
  • Once the product has been spread over the substrate and has lost its tackiness, proceed to float the material.
  • The surface shall be floated using a plastic trowel or a polyurethane float, floating regularly preferably with the infinite movement technique to obtain an even textured surface.
  • Work evenly and uninterruptedly.
  • The choice of tool affects the roughness and structure of the surface, so the same type should always be used on a construction site.
  • To obtain a uniform structure, it is crucial to make sure that the same person structures adjacent surfaces.
  • Due to the natural aggregates and granules in the product, slight colour variations between different batches may occur.
  • Adjacent surfaces should use product from the same batch to ensure consistency.
  • For mechanical spraying of the product, the nozzle diameter should be chosen based on the product's particle size distribution.
  • During spraying, exceptional care must be taken to apply the product evenly, avoiding overlaps, joints, and uneven loading due to application.
  • Cleaning of the tools will be conducted with abundant water immediately after being used. If any dry residue remains, clean with a solvent such as turpentine.

Cautions and recommendations

  • Do not apply under 5ºC nor above 30ºC, under direct sun light, rain, or healing risk.
  • Fog or high ambient humidity can delay the final hardening of this material. Successful application requires a certain level of experience.
  • High humidity and/or low temperatures can significantly extend the drying time and cause a loss of colour uniformity.
  • Do not apply on floors or inclined surfaces where the exposed face is facing upwards.
  • The surface must be protected from rainwater while applying or hardening the product. Protect the upper surfaces of the render from the penetration of rainwater.
  • To ensure colour uniformity, it is recommended to request the total amount of product needed in a single supply. In any case, do not mix different manufacturing batches in one working area.
  • In machine spraying application, maintain consistent pressure, angle of projection, and distance from the substrate to avoid changes in the final appearance of the product.
  • In machine spraying application, it is recommended to apply multiple coats until achieving the desired coverage and thickness.
  • Pay special attention to environmental temperature changes, humidity, wind, etc. These factors influence the drying process and the workability of the product, potentially causing differences in the final appearance of the application.
  • Protect the surrounding area of the surface to be applied and clean any splashes with water before the product dries or hardens.
  • Protect eyes a d skin, as well as the surrounding area of the surface to be applied and clean any splashes with water before the product dries or hardens.

NOTE: When the product subject to this Technical Data Sheet is used as part of a construction system or solution from GRUPO PUMA, as officially defined as a component of it, the specific instructions and recommendations contained in the corresponding technical documentation must in all cases be followed, specifically, for illustrative purposes, in the Manual related to the system or construction solution in question.
