Features and applications

• Expands and seals all types of joints exposed to permanent or temporary loads from groundwater and run-off water. It stops leakage after encountering water that enters through construction joints, absorbing the water and preventing leakage.
• Joints between concrete.
• Joints between different construction materials, such as concrete and steel / stones.
• Points between materials of different natures, such as PVC or steel pipes passing through concrete walls (pools, tanks, etc.).
• Joints between prefabricated concrete elements. Horizontal joints.
• Vertical working joints.
• Increases its volume by approximately 500% upon contact with water. 
• Expansion is proportional to the amount of water absorbed.
• Chemical resistance (consult technical department).
• Exceptional care with aromatic oils, fuels, vegetable oils, and strong aromatic solvents.
• Maintains stability even in aggressive (saline) waters. 
• Does not contain bentonite and does not lose effectiveness after expansion cycles.
• Easy to apply.

Instructions for use

• Surfaces must be clean, dry, free of dust, cement laitance, solvents, oils, or chemicals in general. 
• The substrate can be damp but must not be wet or waterlogged (the beads cannot be applied in the presence of water).
• Apply PUMALASTIC MS (solvent-free) on concrete, metal, PVC, or natural stone. 
• Cut the bead to the required length, with recommended lengths between 1 m and 1.5 m for walls.
• Apply PUMALASTIC MS to the prepared surface. Place the bead, press it down, and move it in all directions to ensure proper adhesion. Ensure total adhesion of the bead. If necessary, apply PUMALASTIC MS to both the substrate and the bead.
• The bead requires a minimum concrete cover of 10 cm.
• Pour concrete after 24 hours. If necessary, secure the bead with stainless steel nails every 20-25 cm.
• Due to its significant expansion, do not overlap the bead ends. Instead, place the beads side by side in parallel with a minimum gap of 5 cm between them.

Cautions and recommendations

• Respect minimum concrete cover requirements, as insufficient cover may cause the concrete to crack. If the bead needs to be fixed to a pipe, use a clamp or a similar device.
• Ensure that the bead does not get wet before concreting. If it does get wet, wait for it to return to its original size before proceeding with concreting.
• If water ingress increases suddenly, the joints will become waterproof once the bead has expanded.
• Do not apply the bead on movement joints.

Packaging

Colour: Azul (Blueish)
Format: 5 mm x 20 mm x 10 lineal metres.
It can be stored up to 24 months in a fresh and dry place. Store in its original closed container away from UV rays.
