Additional information

Composition

NHL 5 natural hydraulic lime product, with pozzolans, selected aggregates and other additives.

Features and applications

  • Suitable for rehabilitation use due to its high compatibility with traditional systems.
  • For application on structural reinforcements and consolidating masonry walls, pillars and domes by low-pressure injection.
  • High water vapour permeability.
  • Fluid, cohesive mix.
  • High resistance to salts.
  • No separation or exudation .
  • Low content of soluble salts.
  • Free from cement.
  • High mechanical resistance.

Substrates

  • Prior to use, the elements to be consolidated must be treated, filling any missing volume and sealing the joints between the stone and brick. Patch or formwork in places where masonry is not going to be visible. The sealing or patching must be carried out with a natural hydraulic lime product in order to ensure the continuity of the substrate's breathability.

Instructions for use

  • Make horizontal or sloped perforations, with a maximum gradient of 30º over the facing to be treated by inserting injector tubes of 1.5 to 2 cm sections at the appropriate distance, forming a square or staggered mesh according to the condition of the substrate to be consolidated, with approximately 50 cm of separation between the perforations. These injector tubes will penetrate approx 15 cm into the structure.
  • Wash the network of internal channels saturating the entire structure with water using the upper injectors at no-pressure, to avoid deteriorating the network of channels, ensuring that the water flows through the lower injectors. Proceed with the mortar injection after ensuring that the structure has expelled or absorbed all the water.
  • Mix manually or mechanically with the appropriate quantity of water  until a fluid consistency is obtained, adding the powdered product gradually over part of the stated amount of water and add the rest of the water to complete the mix for approximately 5 minutes.
  • The material is injected at low-pressure taking into account the condition of the substrate, injecting from bottom to top to ensure the removal of air content inside the substrate until it appears through the upper injectors. Control the pressure according to the condition of the substrate.
  • For horizontal surfaces use low-pressure or gravity injection and make outlets in the areas opposite the insertion.

Cautions and recommendations

  • Use the mortar within 30 minutes of mixing.
  • Do not reuse previously mixed product.
  • Do not apply under 5ºC nor above 30ºC.
  • Do not apply if there is a risk of freezing or on immersed substrates.
  • Wet the wall with abundant water.

Packaging

15 kg plastic-lined paper bags.Shelf life: 1 year in sealed original packaging, sheltered from weather conditions and humidity.
